acey Chabert’s latest Netflix holiday movie, Hot Frosty, is exactly what it sounds like: a perfectly cheesy Christmas romance that explores the idea of a snowman coming to life — only the snowman is a hunk, played by Dustin Milligan. The movie has plenty of holiday cheer and sweet romance. Plus, Hot Frosty has a nod to one of Lacey Chabert’s most iconic roles, Gretchen Wieners. In the film, fans noticed a shoutout to Mean Girls and Lindsay Lohan, and they are loving the nostalgic callback.
ICYMI, in Hot Frosty, Milligan and Chabert’s characters are watching television when she catches a glimpse of another Netflix holiday movie, Falling For Christmas. And guess who has the lead role in that film? Lindsay Lohan, of course. “That is so funny. That looks just like a girl I went to high school with,” Chabert says, looking at Lohan onscreen. Confirmed: Cady Heron and Gretchen Wieners are classmates in more than one cinematic universe.
Fans were loving the moment on X, formerly called Twitter. “the mean girls callback in ‘Hot Frosty’… phenomenal,” one tweeted about the scene. Another wrote, “The mean girls reference in hot frosty on Netflix 😂👏.” TL;DR: They think the shoutout qualifies as “so fetch.”
This November, Chabert and Lohan have both been promoting their Netflix Christmas movies. While Hot Frosty came out on Nov. 13, Lohan’s upcoming film Our Little Secret is premiering Nov. 27. Lohan’s Christmas rom-com has a slightly less magical twist. In it, two exes are forced to spend the holidays together when they find out their new significant others are siblings — oh, and they don’t want anyone to know they used to date.
During a Netflix press day, the former co-stars posed for a photo together, which Lohan shared on her IG Stories. “So fetch catching up with my girl,” she wrote alongside the picture. Chabert re-posted the Story, adding her own message to Lohan: “Love you!”
Here’s hoping Chabert and Lohan had a chance to sing “Jingle Bell Rock” together!
Zendaya Says She First Met Tom Holland At A “Chemistry Read”
They’ve been working together since 2016.
Zendaya and Tom Holland’s love story is proof that dating a co-worker isn’t always a bad idea. The two first met in 2016 while working on Spider-Man: Homecoming, but they didn’t get together right away. It wasn’t until September 2021 that they became Instagram official, when Holland posted a sweet birthday tribute to Zendaya, calling her, “my MJ.” Since then, they’ve continued to work together on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Plus, a fourth installment of the series is in the works *and* the duo is also appearing in an upcoming Christopher Nolan project, per Deadline.
During a November interview with Vanity Fair, Zendaya opened up about working with her boyfriend. And according to her, it’s not at all “weird” to be acting alongside him. “It’s actually strangely comfortable. It’s like second nature, if anything,” Zendaya told the outlet.
“You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside,” Zendaya continued. “I love working with him. He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him.”
The couple’s ease onscreen shouldn’t come as a surprise considering how the two of them met. “[Working together] feels pretty normal. That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read,” Zendaya added.
Previously, Zendaya has touched on what it’s like to lean on Holland, especially as she takes on emotionally complicated characters in projects like Euphoria. “I think it’s great to have that support and love around you, because you need that,” she told Entertainment Tonight in April 2022. “This isn’t an easy job, so it’s good to have that to free you up from it every now and then.”
Holland has also opened up about their relationship. He told the Associated Press in December 2021 that their relationship was a source of comfort for him, especially because they’re both in the same field. He explained how Zendaya helped support him, “The biggest way is just companionship, you know, like two friends coming together, experiencing this world, going through the same problems at the same times, having a shoulder to cry on, has been a huge thing for the pair of us.”
Gavin Casalegno Announces Marriage On Instagram
OK, Jeremiah!
The fall I turned… married? On Nov. 12, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Gavin Casalegno hard launched his relationship by posting photos from his wedding. “FOREVER CAPTIVATED BY YOU🕊️,” he captioned the Instagram, tagging his now-wife, Cheyanne King. (She has since updated her Instagram to reflect her married name: Cheyanne Casalegno.)
This is the first time that Gavin, 25, and Cheyanne, 23, have publicly confirmed their relationship, and fans were definitely surprised by the wedding post. The comments section quickly filled up with people expressing their disbelief. “UM DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE WAS DATING,” one commented under the photos. Another fan weighed in, “DID I MISS A COUPLE HUNDRED CHAPTERS????”
Gavin’s The Summer I Turned Pretty castmates — including Chris Briney, Lola Tung, Rain Spencer, and Sean Kaufman — have not weighed in on his hard launch post yet, and as of publication, there’s no sign that any of the cast attended his wedding.
Gavin and Cheyanne have kept their relationship private until this point, so it’s unclear how long they have been together. Based on her Instagram posts, it looks like their relationship stretches back to at least September 2023. Cheyanne shared a photo from a vacation in Thailand on Sept. 6, 2023, and although you can only see his back, her travel buddy definitely resembles Gavin.
During a trip to France in December 2023, Cheyanne posted more soft launch photos with him — and this time, she made it clear that there was a romantic connection. She captioned one post of the two of them, “me + mine🍯.” In another picture, Gavin’s face is hidden as he kisses her cheek. She captioned it, “a lil Canadian tuxedo moment w/ my luv.”
Gavin was previously in a relationship with fellow actor Larsen Thompson, but the couple seemingly broke up in the spring of 2022 after six years together. Before their breakup, the duo was constantly posting together and commenting on each other’s social media, but that all stopped in May 2022. And when The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 1 premiered in June that year, Thompson was quiet on socials.
Camila Is Taking An Internet Break… Right As Shawn Drops His Album
The timing…
If you were planning on dissecting Camila Cabello’s latest posts after Shawn Mendes released his new album, you’re in for a rude awakening. The day before Shawn was released on Nov. 15, Cabello shared a selfie and announced she’d be stepping away from social media for a while. Though the singer’s been mentioning a need to step away for a while now, the timing of her hiatus seemed pretty telling.
“A writer must have stories,” Cabello wrote in her Nov. 14 post. “Living them right now, taking some cute little internet breaks. Love you my babies.”
Notably, the message was posted just hours before Mendes released his deeply personal album Shawn, which contains multiple songs that are believed to be inspired by his past on-again, off-again relationship with Cabello. The lead single “Why Why Why” sees Mendes confessing he thought he was about to become a father in a recent relationship, and other tracks like “Nobody Knows” and “That’ll Be the Day” also seem to be clearly inspired by his romance with Cabello.
Although Mendes’ new music mostly depicts Cabello as the one that got away, she isn’t going to be on the internet to react to any of the songs.
While Mendes and Cabello have seemed to maintain a friendly relationship despite their latest breakup in 2023, Mendes did recently open up about how they’ve grown apart recently. The same day that Cabello announced her internet break, Mendes spoke about their distance.
“I think we haven’t been the closest over the last couple of years,” he told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe. Despite growing apart, Mendes added that he still feels a strong bond with Cabello: “But I think we really know each other … We spent a lot of time together, we really know each other’s hearts. Even when all the sound and all the noise is happening, we can kind of see through each other’s bullsh*t pretty easily. And it’s just nice to have that.”
But for now, it sounds like Cabello wants a little time to herself.
A Guide To Taylgating In Toronto For Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour
There’s a MAC beauty bar, friendship bracelets, and more.
The Eras Tour is making its penultimate stop in Toronto, Canada, for six shows from Nov. 14 through Nov. 23. Since this is one of the last times fans will get to see all of Swift’s eras in one three-hour-long show, the city is pulling out all the stops with a Taylgating experience.
Unlike Taylor-gating, where fans camp out before and during a show in the parking lot adjacent to a venue, Toronto’s Version: Taylgate ‘24 is a pre-concert event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre with photo ops, makeup stations, and friendship bracelet-making. The convention center is just a five-minute walk away from the Rogers Centre, where Swift is performing each night, so it’s the perfect place to party with your friends right before she takes the stage.
What’s The Tea On Toronto’s Taylgate Experience?
Unfortunately, Taylgate ‘24 isn’t free. Tickets cost $55 Canadian (or $39 in the U.S.) — butttt that includes access to a MAC Cosmetics Beauty Bar for adding the final sparkling touches to your concert lewk, a heart hands photo op for you to take pics from Fujifilm Canada, and a silent disco in an old subway car. If you didn’t end up getting tickets or can’t afford going last-minute, this is also a chance for Swifties to have fun while Tay-Tay is in town. And no, you don’t need a ticket to the show in order to go.
The Taylgating experience will also have exclusive merch available for anyone who missed out on the viral blue crewneck, food, drinks, and a comfy lounge with claw machines for anyone wanting to chill in while waiting to pick up friends after the show.
