He dug a hole in the ground and put a banana and a raw egg in it. It seems strange what he does, but the result is incredible!

It might sound strange – after all, these are food items meant for c sumption, not for gardening purposes.

However, the truth is that both bananas and eggs can work miracles for plants, and you don’t have to be a gardening expert with a green thumb to succeed with them.

Many people perceive gardening as a time-consuming activity that requires extensive knowledge. One must know what each specific plant requires to grow and thrive; like the amount of sunlight it requires or the volume of water needs.

Personally, I don’t consider gardening to be my strong suit, which is why I’ve been searching for simple tricks that can help me along the way.

And this is one of those tricks. It involves nothing more than a bunch of bananas, some eggs, and a pot, yet it has garnered millions of views on YouTube.

So, what makes this gardening hack so popular?

The trick, as you may understand, revolves around efficiently growing plants and seedlings, and there’s a reason why eggs and bananas can be used to great advantage.

Eggshells serve as a cost-effective alternative to fertilizers. So instead of emptying your wallet on fancy fertilizers, you can simply harness the potent properties of eggshells – they are rich in calcium and other minerals, making them perfect for plant cultivation.

However, using a whole egg is said to yield even better results. When the egg decomposes, various substances are released, preventing root rot in the soil.

Meanwhile, bananas also contain a multitude of nutrients that are released as they decay. Banana peels, in particular, are rich in potassium, one of the most vital nutrients for plants.

You can thus create an effective (and cheap!), natural fertilizer by burying these food items together with your plant in the soil.

Here’s what you need to do:
Take a pot and fill it with about 2 inches of soil. Place a raw egg in the center of the pot, along with a banana, and fill it up with more soil.

Then, plant your desired plant in the pot.

As the egg and banana decompose, the nutrients they contain will gradually be released into the soil, providing nourishment for the plant to grow.

What’s even better about this trick is that you can use old eggs and bananas that would otherwise be discarded. Instead of simply throwing them in the trash, you give them a new purpose; to help your plants thrive and flourish!

In the video below (or here), you can see how to proceed in using eggs and bananas as fertilizers to grow tomatoes. Brilliant, if you ask me!

I, for one, will definitely try this trick. All-natural methods are a big plus for me, so I would much rather use eggs and bananas than fertilizers! Not to mention the big chunk of savings you are left with because of how cost-effective this hack is.

Feel free to share if you know someone who would appreciate this. It’s perfect, especially during this time as spring is here!
