Emily Ratajkowski was pushed over the edge by Celeste Barberโs latest mockery, specifically her G-string photoshoot remake.
Celeste initially poked fun at the supermodel back in 2017.
The caption accompanying the G-string photoshoot declares, โWe are sick of objectifying our bodies! Also, hereโs my a*s.โ
Consequently, Ratajkowski decided to block the comedian on Instagram. In a High Low podcast episode, she expressed her thoughts, โThe whole drama with Celeste has been blown out of proportion.โ
This development coincides with the 31-year-oldโs prior discussions about how her image has been exploited for financial gain, as detailed in her book.
She said in the podcast, โIn general, I find her to be really funny. But, the message I was trying to send to her was, โI just donโt want you to do this to me anymoreโ. I was like, โIโm not giving her my consent for this joke anymore.โ It just landed at a specific time for me.โ
Ratajkowski asserted that she holds no personal grudge against Celeste, emphasizing that mocking women who express themselves through their bodies is inherently rooted in misogyny.
Emily Ratajkowski continued, โWe really love to pick on female influencers, like they are considered the trash, lamest, most cringe, most embarrassing people on the planet.โ
โI fundamentally find that to be sexist. Yeah, no s**t, women want to be influencers โ itโs one of the ways that women have learned to be successful and make money. Theyโre hustling,โ she added.
Despite facing criticism for her parodies of Ratajkowskiโs photos, Celeste reaffirmed her stance this year, asserting that she remains unapologetic for her actions.
The Wellmania celebrity shared with Marie Claire in January: โI like running my mouth off. I do it a lot. Iโm quick-witted โ itโs one of my favorite things about me.โ
Celeste added: โI donโt like that I feel I canโt do that as much, and yeah, I do feel like I censor myself sometimes. But then other times I donโt give a f**k and I operate from a place of already being cancelled. I mean good luck to them. You canโt win. They hate what you do one day, then youโre the greatest thing in the world the next day.โ
