A cruel turn of events led to the body of the Instagram influencer’s husband being found a year after her shocking death.
Where did Alexis Sharkey go?
On October 6, 2021, Tom Sharkey, Alexis Sharkey’s husband, was found shot in the head in the Fort Myers home of his daughter.
Tom was said to be wanted in connection with the 2020 strangulation of Alexis. He hadn’t been charged yet.
Alexis, who had just gotten married, went missing in Texas after a fight with an unknown person who was said to be her husband, according to her mother Stacey Robinault.
The last time Alexis’s friends heard from her was at 6 p.m. on November 27. After that, calls to her phone went straight to voicemail.
Stacey told reporters, “Thanksgiving was a busy day for both of us, so it was just a quick ‘Love you’ kind of thing.”
“Then Friday… well, Friday got away.” The day was full.
“We never talked, and then she went missing Friday night and I have not seen her or heard from her since.”
Before her body was dumped, her mother thought there had been foul play.
At the time, Houston police said that an autopsy showed she had been choked to death.
Afterward, the police said that Tom had lied and avoided questions from investigators and that he and Alexis had a history of domestic violence.
There were rumors that she was involved in a pyramid scheme, but those rumors have since been shot down.
KHOU-TV reported that the police said Alexis talked about getting a divorce before she was killed.
Her friends also confirmed that Alexis had told them months before she went missing that she and her boyfriend were breaking up and that she had changed.
The couple was getting close to their first wedding anniversary in December 2020.

When did she last show up?
On Black Friday, November 27, 2020, the influencer was last seen.
It is known that Alexis did not take her car with her before she disappeared.
A Facebook post that first said Alexis had gone missing had been shared thousands of times on the site.
In a post on November 29, her mother said that Alexis’s body had been hidden.
She said: “It’s with deeply broken hearts that Mike and I want to let you all know that Lexi’s body has been found.”
“We cannot begin to thank you all for your love and the kind words you’ve extended to our family!”
Where did you find her body?
Alexis was found sad and naked on the side of the road.
A worker for the city of Houston found her when they saw her feet sticking out from under some bushes.
The Instagram influencer, who had 21,000 followers, didn’t have any obvious injuries on her body, and it’s thought she stayed where she was found overnight.
In a post on social media after the discovery, Alexis’s husband called her “the most amazing woman.”
He wrote, “Never seen or felt such beauty!” next to pictures of Alexis in her wedding dress. You make my world go round!
“You changed my life so much!” Makes sense of my life! My reason! And taught me how to really love!”
Tom wouldn’t let her see Alexis’ body for two weeks after she died, her mother said.
As her husband, he would have the most say in what happened with her, and he had always said he was okay with her coming home, she told the local news station KRIV.
“Stacey?” After Tom stopped talking to her, the medical examiner named her as his next of kin.
A report in The Daily Beast said that Alexis told friends that Tom was abusing her while she was on a trip in early November.
A friend told the news outlet, “He kept sending her awful, mean messages while they were on the trip.”
“But one night, when we were alone together, she told me, ‘He chokes and strangles me, and every time I pass out and wake up on the bathroom floor,’”
