“Cui Bono” and “Drinnies” clear the podcast price
“Cui Bono: WTF happened to Ken Jebsen?” not only was it awarded the Grimme Online award on Thursday night (reported DWDL.de), but also the German Podcast award. Studio Bummens production even received two awards – one in the category “Best Journalistic Achievement” and another for “Best Production”. There were also two awards for “Drinnies” with Giulia Becker and Chris Sommer in the “Best Talk Team” and “Best Independent Podcast” categories.
For the first time in its history, the awards ceremony, hosted by Aminata Belli and Micky Beisenherz, was celebrated with a live event in Berlin. The awards were divided into a total of eleven categories. Brothers musicians Bill and Tom Kaulitz, who recently talked about current topics and their lives in their podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Senf aus Hollywood”, were honored as “The Best Advent”.
In the “Best Interviewer” category, the podcast award went to Munich sports journalist Max-Jacob Ost and his project “11 Lives – The World of Uli Hoeneß”. The Best Screenplay award went to “Wild Wild Web – Season 1: The Kim Dotcom Story”, and the audience also honored stock market reporter Markus Koch with a news and politics award for his “Wall Street with Markus Koch” podcast. ”.
The winners have shown once again “how diverse the podcast scene is in this country,” says Grit Leithäuser, Managing Director of Radio Central and organizer of the German Podcast Award. “It’s amazing how they move the listeners’ thoughts and emotions with the power of their voices and exciting stories.”
