Kirsters’ Opinion| The crowd went wild during a rally held for President Donald Trump in Greenville, North Carolina this week. After the President bashed Democratic Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar and her constant criticism of the United States, the crowd erupted in a chant of “send her back,” referring to the Somalian-American lawmaker.
“Omar has a history of launching vicious screeds,” President Trump explained to the crowd, answered by chants of “send her back.”
“President Trump listed off various critical statements that Omar previously said about the country, including her trivialization of the September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks,” according to Breitbart News. This prompted the crowd to break out in an angry chant.
“She smeared U.S. service members involved in Black Hawk Down. In other words, she slandered the brave Americans who were trying to keep peace in Solomila,” Trump continued.
“Omar minimized the September 11th attacks on our homeland, saying “some people did something,” he recalled.
“I don’t think,” Trump insisted.
Then he laid into Ilhan Omar for her “lenient stance on attempted ISIS recruits and mocking the threat of Al-Qaeda,” according to Breitbart.
“She pleaded for compassion for ISIS recruits attempting to join the terrorist organization,” he said, going on to make note of the way the progressive lawmaker seemed to downplay just how dangerous Al-Qaeda is. He continued, “Omar laughed that Americans speak of Al-Qaeda in a menacing tone and remarked that, ‘You don’t say American with this intensity.’”
Breitbart explains that “The president also criticized Omar’s fellow ‘Squad’ members Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).”
Take a look:
Both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are currently on the campaign trail. They paid a visit to East Carolina University’s Williams Arena mere hours after it was voted by the House 332-95 on a table a resolution to “bring articles of impeachment against the president. The failed measure was introduced by Rep. Al Green (D-TX),” according to Breitbart.
Trump has since come out and condemned the chant of “Send her back” that broke out at the rally.
