Karol Czubak proved to be unrivaled in all of Poland. The striker from the first league Arka Gdynia won the April Football Eagles poll by scoring five goals. He overtook Marc Gual of Ekstraklasa Jagiellonia Białystok and Mateusz Baszak of fourth league team Karkonosze Jelenia Góra.
Ark hit the legendary bull’s eye with the transfer of Czubak. The striker joined her before last season, after a quick parting with Widzew Łódź. He scored his first goal in his debut. He finished that edition with fourteen goals. Without him, Arka played in the playoffs for Ekstraklasa, from which they were eliminated after the semi-final against Chrobry Głogów.
Everything indicates that Arka will once again fight for a ticket to the elite through the playoffs, but Czubak will help with that. This is currently the most effective sniper in the back room. In the 1st league he was the only one to break the barrier of twenty goals. Regardless of the final result, this season will be the best of his career.
In April, Czubak scored five goals, thanks to which Arka scored five points. First, the 23-year-old showed a double with GKS Katowice, and then he did the same with GKS Tychy. Both games ended in a draw 2-2. At the end of the month, Czubak scored another goal for Chrobry Głogów in a 3–0 game already won at halftime.
Czubak’s goals in the Football Eagles rankings were multiplied by the current conversion rate of 1.75 points for the 1st league. That put his score at 8.75, which is exactly 0.75 better than the performance of Jagiellonia Białystok’s Marc Gual, who finished off Wisła Płock with a hat-trick in April.
On Sunday, Czubak will start the battle for victory in the May Football Eagles rankings. The first challenge of the new month is a visit to Stal Rzeszów. In the autumn in Gdynia, there was a draw 2-2, but Czubak just missed the net.
