Are you going skiing? In addition to well-chosen equipment, you must also remember the right outfit. Check out proven ways to dress for skiing. Thanks to them, you will choose clothes that provide you with sufficient comfort and warmth.
The most important thing to ensure your comfort is to dress in the so-called. onion. This primarily applies to the torso. The upper part of the outfit must contain three layers:
- base (first) – closest to the body. Its primary task is, above all, effective moisture removal;
- middle (second) – put the base layer on. This piece of clothing, in turn, must provide sufficient thermal comfort;
- external (third) – must protect against adverse weather conditions.
The underlay must be made of a breathable material that directs sweat away. Thanks to it, you will not sweat during the descent. This also has an added benefit. When you stop moving (for example, when you get off the elevator), you don’t get cold. For example, the base layer can be thermoactive clothing or clothing made of merino wool – material from one of the sheep breeds (it is very thin and soft to the touch, so it does not irritate the skin like ordinary wool). The next, or intermediate layer, is designed to keep you warm. It will work well for this purpose light insulated jacket or fleece. Note: Many ski jackets have an insulated lining. In such a situation, you can safely skip the middle layer.

The outer element in the upper part of the ski clothing is the already mentioned ski jacket. It’s best if it does windproof and equipped with a water-repellent DWR layer or made using 100% waterproof Gore-Tex technology.
