Instagram is testing automatic age recognition based on selfie videos in the United States. Users are asked to upload the clip, which is then evaluated by partner company Yoti, as explained by the photo and video platform of Facebook group Meta on Thursday. After that, the video will be deleted. Although the software can estimate the age of users, it is not designed to recognize their identity, Instagram points out.
