“People get sick”
Habeck restructures the Ministry of Economy
Sleep deprivation, burnout and tinnitus: The Ministry of the Federal Economy Minister Robert Habeck is experiencing a major overload. In order not to lose the “impact” in the energy and economic crisis, a new department for energy security is to be established.
Federal Minister of Economy Robert Habeck is restructuring his department in response to the energy crisis. The green politician is establishing a new department for energy security and economic stabilization, according to a spokeswoman for the German news agency. This should create new synergies and focus tasks more. In the fight against the energy and economic crisis, the “intervention” needs to be supported and strengthened.
The new department is to be headed by Philipp Steinberg, who until now headed the Department I Economic Policy. In this capacity, Steinberg was also responsible for the stabilization measures of companies such as Uniper and Lufthansa. According to the spokesperson, the new department head position is not necessary because the two departments have been merged.
“People can’t anymore”
Previously, Habeck also impressively described the high workload in his service. He told the Congress of the Federation of German Industry in Berlin on Thursday: “People, at some point they have to sleep and eat.” He continued: “It’s not the shit I’m talking about now: People get sick. They burn out, they get tinnitus. They can’t take it anymore.” Laws are always made by the same people, because that’s how a house is built. The tourism department cannot design the electricity market.
Habeck said that 20 laws and 28 decrees were passed in his ministry in the last nine months. “I would have to count how many laws the Ministry of Economy issued in the last election period.” He would guess that there are fewer. Habeck also criticized the “overgrowth” of EU state aid legislation. You have “buried yourself” in a lot of traps. The Ministry of Economy deals primarily with the consequences of the energy crisis caused by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Habeck is criticized mainly because of the gas tax.
