UN: Israelis fired shots at journalist Abu Akleh | News


Veteran Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was murdered on May 11 in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

The United Nations has said information they gathered showed that the shot that killed Al Jazeera TV journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on May 11 was fired by Israeli forces.

“All the information we have gathered … is consistent with the finding that the shots that killed Abu Akleh and wounded her colleague Ali Sammoudi came from Israeli security forces and not from indiscriminate firing by armed Palestinians,” said Ravina Shamdasani, spokeswoman for the UN Human Rights Office.
