Urszula impresses with her extraordinary voice, talent and naturalness. She performed many hits sung in Polish homes to this day, such as “Raspberry King”, “Dmuchawce, kite, wind” or “Rocking horse”. The singer recently celebrated her 40th career. Much has changed in her life during this time. She has also undergone a metamorphosis herself.
We can admire Urszula on the Polish music scene for years. Over time, her music and fashion style have changed, as well as herself. What was this metamorphosis like?
Urszula Kasprzak was born 63 years ago in Lublin. She grew up with her sister Ewa, four years older than her. The girls’ parents work in a clothing company mercy. Urszula has learned to play the accordion and piano since she was a child, she also took singing lessons. After high school, she began her studies at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, at the Faculty of Music Education, but dropped out and devoted herself to her career.
“My childhood was certainly problem-free. All the difficulties were solved by the parents. The children were not drawn into the adults’ stories. My parents tried to solve things on their own and discuss them. Sometimes my sister and I felt that something was wrong . However, it was all about love. There was no hatred or frowns. For this reason, I like when there is a good atmosphere around me. I try to build it myself, also in a team. Sometimes it is bad because everyone is starting to get on my head – Urszula told Trójka. “I couldn’t have done anything else. I think it should be nice and we should be understanding towards each other – she added.
Urszula met her future husband in a recording studio. They met in Lublin, where she was to record a song with Sufler’s stand. Stanisław Zybowski was the band’s new guitarist.
I knew right away that the guy with the guitar was meant for me. If we hadn’t met there then, fate would have put us in the end anyway. From the day I met him, other men ceased to exist for me – according to the portal pomponik.pl, Urszula said about Zybowski.
Stanisław Zybowski was divorced with two children, and Urszula was in a relationship with Paweł Markowski, a member of Manaam. Nevertheless, they fell in love with each other Urszula was captivated, she claims, by the fact that Stanisław was a good man.
The couple had a son, Piotr, and dreamed of building a house. To achieve this goal, they traveled to the United Stateswhere they gave concerts and earned extra money “in black”. They were married in 1992 in New York. After returning to Poland and the success of the album White road started building a house. However, the musician’s illness, liver cancer, stood in the way. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the couple still lived in the hope of recovery. The man died in 2001.
Two years later, the singer had feelings for a much younger Tomasz Kujawski. There was a lot of talk about this relationship at the time. The couple was not only divided by age, but also by nationality and skin color, because Tomasz comes from Libya.
The man worked with Urszula and dealt with the sound system and equipment. After her husband’s death, she supported her friend.
He knew Staszek and witnessed our love. And after his death, he was the first to give me a helping hand. He may have been lost, but he had enormous amounts of goodness in him that he has left behind to this day, Urszula said Viva.
As the singer pointed out, referring to their ages, love was the most important thing to her. The couple struggled with various adversities, including addiction, which they managed to overcome. The marriage in 2003 gave birth to the son Szymon.
Urszula has already tried her hand at music competitions since her teenage years. She competed in the Festival of Soviet Song in Zielona Góra and then in the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. During her studies, she collaborated with many musicians, including singing in Majka Jeżowska’s choir.
In the 1980s she started working with the band Prompt stand. Common songs, including “Dandelions, dragons, wind” became hits. The singer gained more and more popularity, she also hit the cover of magazines. She has performed with Shed as a special guest she sang with, among others, Felicjan Andrzejczak and Krzysztof Cugowski. She released her debut album Ursula. Second plate Raspberry king with the single of the same title, it became a hit. After the release, the artist ended his collaboration with the band.

Urszula accepted the invitation to the comedy “Oh, Karol” and played Jola there. Along with Seweryn Krajewski, she also performed the song “Baw mnie” promoting the film. After resuming work with Sufler’s stand and released an album Ursula 3. Meanwhile, she appeared in various television productions and made her debut as a songwriter. In 1987 she toured the USA, and after returning home she already released the last album recorded with Shed.
Together with his life partner Stanisław Zybowski, they founded a band jumbo. In the years 1990 – 1994 they emigrated to the USA. The pair toured there and released an album Ursula & Jumbowhich, however, did not gain popularity. After returning to the country, the singer recorded a cover of “Konik na Biegun”, which restored her recognition. She released a rock album White roadwhere she wrote most of the lyrics. This disc was the singer’s biggest success among all her albums. Her album was released in 2001 Battlewhich was certified gold.
