ZDF usually relies on fictional thrillers on Friday nights, but with the launch of “XY Unsolved” the station recently tried True Crime at 9.15pm – and it was quite successful at first. Against strong competition from the Bundesliga, the new format with Sven Voss attracted an average of 3.35 million viewers and a market share of 13.8 percent. “Resolved XY” reached 6.9 percent among 14- to 49-year-olds.

However, “Public Prosecutor” was even stronger in the competition, with 4.22 million viewers and 17.7 percent of the total audience market, making it the strongest football follower. The ARD series “Stable Rooms” couldn’t get going here and, with 2.63 million viewers, only achieved a market share of 11.0 percent. The film even managed only 4.1 percent among young audiences.

In the target group, on the other hand, RTL was still the most successful outside the Bundesliga: There, the “Ultimate Chartshow”, which was shown again at 20:15 after several late-night editions, reached a respectable market of 11.2 percent. share. Overall, however, only 1.28 million people were enthusiastic about the summer holiday hits. However, ProSieben could only dream of such values: There “The Incredible Hulk” lost completely with only 670,000 viewers and a market share of 5.4 percent in the target group.

But RTLzwei couldn’t do anything with the comedy “Nachts im Museum” and even stalled at just 3.0 percent. It was also bad for American crime series on Vox and Kabel Eins: While the two episodes of “Magnum PI” flopped on Vox with values of 2.8 and 3.2 percent, “Navy CIS” on Kabel Eins even started with only 2.2 percent in the evening. Later, Whiskey Cavalier was able to beat it by a disastrous 1.8 percent.
